Overview of Research Degrees Examination Management (RDEM) in eVision
In Michaelmas term 2025, Research Degrees Examination Management (RDEM) in eVision will be launched to better support the management and administration of postgraduate examinations.
The introduction of the new system will also enable the implementation of new postgraduate research examination regulation changes which are set to go into effect from 12 October 2025.
Note: This image showcases one path through an examination journey, there are variations to this.
RDEM in eVision will be used by the Research Degrees Team (RDT), Students who will submit their theses via Student Self Service, Examiners, Graduate Administrators (GSA's), Payroll and the Print Room.
Using a single integrated platform will bring collaborative efficiencies to the teams who manage the examination processes, along with new visibility of examination progress to Graduate Administrators / Graduate Studies Administrator's (GSA's).
There will be a period of transition where some 'in flight' examination records will continue to be processed in the current systems. Over time examination records will be migrated across to RDEM and the project team will share further details about this nearer the time.
